For a tank terminal in Antwerp, Amerplastics realised a plastic extinguishing piping system using Bondstrand 2416 glass fibre reinforced epoxy (GRE) with Key-Lock mechanical joints, locking keys, and Taper\/Taper bonded joints.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The assignment included full detailed design, CAD drawings, prefabrication of Bondstrand pipe spools, civil works, on-site installation, and project management.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

The Bondstrand pipes were installed during the new construction of a trio of tank pits and the refurbishment plus upgrade of existing extinguisher pipes around three current tank pits.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In an emergency, water flows through the underground Bondstrand mains to hydrants and monitors to extinguish the fire. At the same time, a water or foam mixture can be created near the tank pit wall, which is spread into the tank pit via the monitors.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n
